okae!
finally arranged out my photos for the school excursions post!
haha... basically now my photos has tripled, quadrupled and so on
cos my housemate caihong has gotten a new camera
and she can take like 500 photos in a single day
or even more, depending on her mood, hahaha..
my comp is bursting with photos le..
ooh, and keep in mind that all these happened some time ago
so my memory is quite blurred already =p
first excursion: to shougang steel
and this shougang company is damn 夸张
it is like a housing estate of its own
complete with factories, hostels, its own transport system
a big lake and others i can't really remember..
the employees of shougang and their family live in this mini estate
hats helmets serves lots of functions
everyone was busy thinking of ways to fully utilise it o.O
in the end, i think i haven't learned much about what we are supposed to learn
hahaha, was just busy having fun..
and that's all for our first excursion =)
the following week on friday we went to capitaland
and the reason, if i remember correctly
is about collaboration between china and foreign companies
it's not like this in singapore right? hahaha..
unless i am so sua ku that i didn't realise that..
sat in for a presentation at their HQ which was damn near our house
but then we were brought back to a further place
to take a look at one of their shopping malls..
which we have been to previously already..
basically we just walked round the whole mall
from the first floor to the top floor
and looking like some damn important people, haha..
first time trying teppanyaki with the chef cooking in front of me
it's abit disappointing but i don't know what's wrong with it
hahaa, i think it was abit different from my impression
accompanied chee wee to get his PSP after that..
seriously, i was bored by this museum..
the first level we went to had displays of the four main chinese rituals
namely birth, birthday, marriage and death
and objects that are related to these ceremonies
there was one level that had lots of statues and pottery
which was also boring to me..
there was such a big group of us following the guide
i couldn't really catch the things he was saying
and soon his voice just sounded like noise to my ears
and so i wandered off on my own, hahaha..
when i came to the last level, finally there were some interesting stuff
there were artifacts of objects being used since the earliest history in china
and also the words they use and so on..
but overall, i still don't really like this museum
i mean, they don't have a main theme and nothing awes me
the following week is the excursion everyone is waiting for
and that is the trip to yanjing beer production plant
especially the packaging stage, hahaha..
we were brought through the whole process of producing the beer
and then lastly treated to a cup of fresh yanjing beer each~
the taste is lighter and less beer-ly tasting, haha..
went shopping at xidan with roomie over the weekend
and bought nice skirts!
i wish i brought my shorts along man, the weather is too hot for jeans now!
attended a dinner function by the Singapore Student Association (SSA) on sunday
hmm, not an excursion but well..
it's already too late to try to fit it anywhere else, haha..
and so we reached the dinner location
a friendly committee member greeted us at the door
and she recognised me but i can't recall who she is man..
so malu, turns out that she is also from board of monitresses in nanyang
but my memory of nanyang is so blurry now le
i think it takes me awhile to recognise my classmates even lo =p
anyway, we had to pick the table we sit at
and i got *thinks hard* can't remember which table
haha, but everyone was friendly and the games were fun..
food was good but i felt stressed eating
cos there were this 2 people on our table who were non students
and the feeling was like eating over business discussion
but overall, it was fun getting to know more people =)
following that was a weekend in qingdao
which i will update in another post..
and the second last place we went to for this entry is the 故宫!
like how many years have i waited and i am finally here!
hahaa..
and we got a good guide for the day
who was friendly and answered our questions patiently
lots of photos for the 故宫 trip =)
and the all time favourite jumping shot =)
we attempted to jump into the river outside 故宫
we played around with the tsing hua flag
and we came up with the fisherman's theory =)
which is to watch an acrobatics performance at 天地剧场
had performances like balancing umbrellas, playing with 扯铃
and like a dozen people jumping on to a bicycle
lots of "oohs" and "aahs" throughout the show, haha..
when we were waiting for the jasmine and housemates with kaixuan
they were shopping somewhere along the way to the station
and we waited and we waited but still they haven't come
and thus this bu shuang photo, hahaha XD
on saturday our lessons were cancelled
so me and caihong decided to go to this flea market place to shop
we accompanied shiyun to her office in the morning
who unfortunately was asked to go back for work on a saturday
but left halfway when she was busy calling clients
arrived at 潘家园旧货市场
where things like books, artifacts and paintings were sold
but you have to have an eye for what's real and what's not
before you try to buy anything from there =p
wanted to get some books but nothing caught my eye..
and i still have loads of 金田一 books to finish, haha..
was already quite late when we reached so most attractions were closed
but the sunset in the park was really pretty
which can switch colours around~
so this tree actually has green leaves, not pink..
but it's so pretty isn't it =)
alvin and meizhen decided to take some gu zhuang photos
check out the chor lor emperor and meizhen the ge ge =)
she suits the costume so much~
had dinner at this little restaurant that alvin found
when he was visiting the toilet, hahaha..
the food was great and so was the company ^^
and the night ended with a trip to the PIPE
which was a lesbian pub..
all kinds of girls can be found there, pretty ones, handsome ones
nothing much to update about the place cos i missed all the interesting bits
oh wells..
qingdao trip up next!
i am falling behind again...
booked tickets home on the 27th june from hongkong..
