shopping on sunday with roomie at 五道口批发市场!
cos the household went on saturday while i was away teaching english lessons
and they all said that shopping there was great
should have looked at the guys, bags and bags of tshirts >.<
and so i abandoned my plan of going to the zoo shopping centre
and headed for wdk instead =)
clothes there were indeed damn cheap and nice..
haha, but most were too small for me as usual
bought dresses! omg, my first ever dresses >.<
actually i used to own a yellow dress but i have no idea where it went
i think only my primary school friends ever saw it before, haha..
after shopping, we went to 西直门 capitaland mall
and i bought a cup of 茶西 from the toastbox outlet there
imagine my shock when i said 茶西 and the waiter said TEH C!
omg, an ah tiong saying TEH C makes me feel so at home, madness..
and the TEH C is indeed the TEH C i always drink in singapore
goodness, haven't tasted that in five months already
it was such a touching moment..
HAHAHA, that sounded so dramatic..
but toastbox TEH C is really damn nice larh!
i totally just paid and didn't realise it was SGD$2.40 for a small cup
haha, it only costs $1.40 in singapore sia..
actually i already saw this toastbox outlet the first time i went
but i just never went in and buy the TEH C
arh, wasted 5 months drinking macs milk tea
haha, not that macs milk tea is not nice and it's much cheaper =p
but it's different man, only i can understand i guess XD
proceeded to 王府井 to meet housemates for dinner
and shopped around the beijing 2008 flagship store
they seriously sell every possible thing you can think of larh
from soft toys to magnets to coins to umbrella to school bags o.O
bought a fu wa to hang on my phone, hurhur =)
and then china went into 3 days of national mourning starting on monday
hmm, am i allowed to discuss this topic or not, haha..
anyway, let me just state FACTS okay..
saw the news when i woke up on monday morning
it says that flags will fly at half mast for 3 days
and that the whole country will observe 3 minutes of silence
on monday at 2.28pm, which is one week after the occurence of the earthquake
and then we realise that HBO and star movies disappeared from our TV
and we went on to realise that all entertainment venues stop operating for 3 days
including cinemas, ktv, pubs, etc..
china websites like baidu, tudou and the subpig site were coloured in grey
and now for some opinions..
i can understand the closing down of ktv and pubs during national mourning
as it is public display of entertainment
but what i cannot understand is the suspension of our HBO channel
not that i totally must watch that channel
but i feel that is going abit too over
and while they suspended overseas tv channels
all other local channels only aired earthquake news and nothing else o.O
one surprising thing was that they left 东风 channel untouched
when it was obviously an entertainment channel as well, i wonder why..
and so for 3 days, i have no dramas to watch
for the first time, i wanted to go watch a movie but no cinemas were open
and earthquakes news are like on the tv 24 hours a day
the way the host put across every piece of information is so emotional
the words they use, you can never hear it in our local news
at times i felt touched by the stories going on in the affected area
but i can't help but also think that the media tries to sway people too much
alot of things that are done and said
just because it is through the media, i seriously doubt their sincerity
just what are these people trying to show..
that they are being united?
but that is not the general impression i get in daily lifes
why is it that things only become pretty when disaster strikes?
and my colleagues discuss about who donated how much money everyday
sighs..
and i am a super skeptical person
i just can't feel any emotion when i see reports of selfless contribution o.O
yesterday was the last day of national mourning
so everything's back to normal now
i am going to 鸟巢 later to watch qualifying rounds for track olympics =)
is flailing over tegomass' new PV now!
