the very auspicious date of 080808 today (:
opening ceremony of the beijing olympics is WOW~
feeling very 亲切 for this olympics cos i've actually been to bird nest, hoho..
haha, but it got boring after a while
and i was just waiting for the Singapore team to come out xD
finally got my lazy ass out of the house today
and went to see the doctor
hais, second time i've been to the clinic since i am back
why! i never need to see the doctor so much before o.O
this time is because of a lump that is growing on my heel
and it sucks because i can't wear covered shoes now!
the doctor said it's a wart or something
and referred me to the skin centre for some laser treatment
goodness.. i seem to be very fated with the NSC, muahaha..
i think i have some weird disease of growing lumps lorh, bah..
ooh, back to what i want to blog about today (:
post GIP trip!
have to cut it into a few parts cos it's really too long
and this post is our first destination, xi an, yan an and back to xi an (:
cheewee, alvin, caihong and i took an overnight train to xi an
my first time taking the lie seats and i really didn't like it
hard to climb up and super squeezy!
think might be my problem only, haha..
reached around 7 the next morning and checked into our hostel
we set off for our destination 华清池 and 兵马俑
华清池 would be the place where 杨贵妃 used to bathe
that was what we always hear before we went
i always thought it was just a hole in the floor, haha..
but actually it's kind of like an onsen place, the best in china they say
that's why the place she bathe was built on this site (:
but i think it's just the weather xD
and if you want to try washing your face with the water
have to pay like RMB50cents i think
alvin treated us to a face wash each, haha..
it's like a must-see if you are in xi an
ooh and xi an is such a tourist friendly city
there is a bus which links up all the tourist attractions
and you only need to pay like RMB6-7 to visit all the places
the 兵马俑 is just so-so lorh
there are 3 exhibition sites althogether
and only the first one has like 3 rows of complete 兵马俑
the rest are just some body parts and stuff
from pictures i always thought it was rows and rows of 兵马俑
heh..
but overall is still an eye opener bah
think we were all quite tired and sian cos it's our first day away
and i really miss beijing alot, haha
so i kept nuahing and sitting around instead of being a happy tourist :p
and went to the happening pub at our hostel! (:
met some pretty interesting people over there over a pool game
don't know their names, just knew that there was hongkong guy
and a taiwan guy, singaporean exchange students and this xi an couple..
lots of interesting stories, relaxing night~
it's a small place near to xi an
and as planned by alvin, we were supposed to go experience 窑洞 life there
haha, cos yan an is famous for their 窑洞s
they are holes that people dig in the mountains to stay in aka cave dwellings
and so we rented one for a night to stay in! (:
and met some interesting communists, haha..
yan an is also known for it's revolution history sia
there's a park with houses where mr mao used to live
listen to all the mr mao speeches everywhere o.O
and OMG! yan an is such a boring city we have no idea what to do there..
walked through the whole city and more than 60% of the shops were not open?
despite it being a small city, spending in yan an is more expensive than xi an
no idea how the people survive there at all
back to our cave dwelling for dinner and some chit chatting before zZz..
which is the second largest waterfall of 黄河
have to take a 4-hours ride there and 4 hours back
super tiring bus ride man.. i hate bumpy roads..
and the guys encountered the smelliest toilet in their entire life
heng we never go for toilet break along the way, haha
but the waterfall was amazing (:
looking at the water rushing away just makes me feel peaceful
we should have one of those waterfalls in singapore too xD
i think i am in love with waterfalls and rivers (:
took a night train back to xi an that night..
the whole day of travelling sucks and i can't sleep on the train
back to our xi an hostel to bathe and nuah
before we set off to explore xi an again
cycled around the whole 城墙 which surrounds the xi an city area
damn tiring especially towards the end as we were late in returning the bikes
haha, cos we took too much time resting around at first
and went for massage!
damn shiok, except when the massager kneeled onto my back to massage
xia dao wo...
but the guys look very shuang arh, they bought the full package
and after we left, they still had like one hour plus left..
that's caihong looking excited upon spotting her mayday poster..
what else, hahaha (:
not cheap but i was in desperate need for some non-chinese food
sick of all the 小菜s and rice o.O
straws at the xi an airport are called suckers, muahaha
yeay, and that's for the next post..
wah! 还君明珠 rocks larh!
it's 4am now and i can't stop watching, haha xD
i'm going to watch the ndp tomorrow with my family (:
first time!! i want to see the plane displays so much, heh..
ja ne~!
