i decided to do one of my own.
it's so difficult, i had to draw out some songs from the list :p
you will expect to see japanese and chinese songs.
there was one korean song but it was taken out when i had to choose, heh.
and the songs aren't necessarily released in 2008
it just means i heard them in 2008 :D

NO. 20: 男人KTV - Anson Hu
I fell in love with this song when i heard him sing it live on 娱乐百分百, super ktv song. I am missing out too much on his albums lately, one of my favourite chinese singer.
NO. 19: ORION - Nakashima Mika
Super touching insert song from Ryusei no kizuna, everytime the music came on, the scene becomes very gloomy and sad. I love her voice (:
NO. 18: Unnamed Song - Yoshiki
I don't know this singer but this song is very beautiful and it came from tokyo daikushu, an SP that starred horikita maki and fujiwara tatsuya. It has english lyrics even though i think the singer is a japanese (: And it's really called unnamed song, not that i don't know the title, haha.
NO. 17: 安静了 - SHE
At first, it only sounded like a cover of jay's song, but after a while, it became nicer and nicer and i now see it as a separate song from jay's. Very nice tune and very 耐听.
NO. 16: Game of Love - NEWS
AWW. the first of 2 NEWS song that made it to my chart this year! hais, i am terribly disappointed with their choice of songs. I thought i used to like NEWS songs a lot, did my taste change or did they change their style of music? Anyway, a nice fast beat song that at least suited my taste, but nothing compared to akaku moyuru taiyo.
NO. 15: Beijing Welcomes You - Various Artists
Hahah! This is not just to cater to the year 2008. I really did enjoy this song for quite a long period of time and I watched the MV for more than 10 times! Nice voices that made up the olympic song of 2008 (:
NO. 14: 自由飞翔 - 凤凰传奇
The one song that i kept hearing on the streets of china. When you hear it for the first time, it sounds so terribly like... a china song. But after a few more times of listening, the tune gets stuck with you and it can cheer up an otherwise dull day. i am still enjoying this song on my playlist now (:
NO. 13: Song for me - Ohno Satoshi
Ohno's solo song! this song showcases ohno's powerful vocals and SUPERB dancing skills that i watch the performance over and over again :D what would arashi do without him as a lead singer? and who cares about his marijuana scandal (apparently i-weekly does) as long as he is raking in the money and... i really like him for his talent :D
NO. 12: そばにいるよ - TU-YU
wahaha. i never expected this song to be such a ballad-y song because it's the theme song for an instant noodle advertisement. But nonetheless, because 4 out of 5 members of TU-YU are johnny's, they have to make the MV so beautiful, with snow and everything. And massu's voice ROCKS in this song! so it gets my vote and dashes up the charts to NO.12! HAHA..
NO. 11: 給我一首歌的時間 - Jay Chou
Not a very special song on first hearing, but it grows on you, even though i have no idea what the lyrics are at all. Haha, i only saw the lyrics for the first time when i went for ktv during exams xD but the tune is written in such a way that the end of verse when you sing is not the last word in the sentence, which makes it so interesting. The tune gets nicer and nicer too, haha.
NO. 10: Beautiful Days - Arashi
One of the MANY arashi songs in my chart, 2008 is definitely the year for arashi. i actually loved every single track on this single, which is quite hard to come by because they usually have one terrible song on each single. to be honest, i am addicted to this song because of the drama tie-in, the tune is very arashi-typical but nice :D
NO. 9: Don't You Ever Stop - KAT-TUN
Very catchy song, very kat-tun-ish song. I heard the MV was very good too but i didn't watch. because i am not really a fan. But nice song (:
NO. 8: アイのうた - Fukui Mai
Very nice vocals, i like her songs. This one is from the koizora drama and very fitting for a tragedy show. The song still reminds me of the show every time i listen to it but not so for the male and female lead, i almost forgot how they look like :p
NO. 7: Summer Time - NEWS
The other NEWS song on the chart :D this song is very suitable for them in my opinion, and even though it's not really my type of music, i like it when i first heard it. And it has a very nice and warmy MV to go with it, so NEWS, please make more of such music and less of stardust and that gamgamgambate song? :D
NO. 6: Over the rain ～ひかりの橋～ - Flumpool
The theme song for bloody monday! Don't know the singer but the song is so nice. I think i tend to like drama songs more than i like songs by well known singers. There are actually alot of talent in the more unknown bands in japan. This song has beaten NEWS to sit at NO.6 :D
NO. 5: Circus - Britney Spears
Oh, i was struggling between this song and shattered glass but i think circus is more my type of music. This song is upbeat and hyper, and britney's voice rocks :D Britney IS BACK!
NO. 4: One Love - Arashi
Hahaha, are you shocked that this is only the second arashi song you are seeing :X One Love was constantly looping on my mp3 player for a period of time, which was around the time hana yori dango final movie came out. I really love the lyrics on this song :D

NO. 3: 忘れられない - Arashi
This is a shocker. because it is a B-side track and not the main song on the single but i really like the tune to it, it's almost as addictive as truth. I was attracted to it since the first time i heard it. Love it.
NO. 2: 喬克叔叔 - Jay Chou
Another song that caught me on the first time i listened to it. Amazing music along with a very different music style? it's very difficult to explain, i don't even know why it appeals to me! haha, i just have very weird taste ya :p
NO. 1: Truth - Arashi
And this is not a surprise at all, my top song of 2008 is none other than TRUTH! :D i think i already wrote one whole long post about how much i love this song so there's no need for more explanation. This song topped charts all over japan for the year 2008 too, with One Love at a close second :D does anyone need more evidence that ohno's popularity is not all threatened? I can't wait for his new DRAMA too!
